New literary festival for Tunbridge Wells!
On World Book Day, The Amelia Scott, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s new culture centre in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells, announced the launch of a new literary festival for readers and writers.
The Tunbridge Wells Literary Festival will take place over four days from 29th April to 2nd May 2022. David Baddiel and Jo Brand, both well known as presenters, comedians and writers, will be headlining the programme for this exciting new festival.
The creative space and the new libraries in The Amelia Scott make it the perfect place for this new festival to establish its roots. Alongside the well-known names, the festival will showcase new talent and local talent across the four-days with workshops, readings, panel discussions, poetry and much more.

Councillor Jane March, Portfolio Holder for Environment, Culture and Leisure said: "This looks to be yet another fabulous event being organised by The Amelia team. I am sure it will have very wide appeal."
Readers, new writers, established writers and illustrators will be able to come together to celebrate the joy, imagination and inspiration that comes from the widest variety of literary media, from graphic novels to poetry and podcasts, fact and fiction, popular and niche. Crime, sport history, personal stories will all feature and there will be events for younger readers too. The event’s organisers promise something for everyone.

The festival’s programme of events will be taking place at The Amelia Scott as well as at the Assembly Hall Theatre, Trinity Theatre, The Forum and The Tunbridge Wells Hotel.
The Tunbridge Wells Literary Festival is being organised in partnership with Waterstones. The Tunbridge Wells Hotel is sponsoring the event which is also being supported by Royal Tunbridge Wells Together.
