More than £85k raised By Sevenoaks School Triathletes
Some 816 school children came together at Sevenoaks School on Sunday 12th May to take part in the Knight Frank Schools Triathlon, the UK’s largest fundraising event for children.

In teams of four, they swam, cycled and ran their hearts out and have so far raised over £85,000 for Restless Development and numerous other charities chosen by the participating schools. It is a truly inspiring story of local children supporting young leaders around the world.
This is a national series organised by global youth charity, Restless Development. This year 10,000 pupils will be taking part to raise over £1million; which will help to support more than 100 charities. Thanks to the event sponsors, Knight Frank, Bentley Motors and Neilson Beach Holidays the much-needed funds raised will go directly to charity.
This year was the second year that Sevenoaks School has hosted the event and it was a day to remember. It is truly a community-centred day, with local businesses and more than 2,000 attendees coming together for a feel-good event. Generous volunteers and more than 40 Sevenoaks School pupils and staff kindly gave up their Sunday to ensure the event ran smoothly.

Lots of inspiring stories came out on the day including top fundraisers Olanna, Leo, Isabel, Ava and Cleo who raised an incredible £2,040. They did this by sharing the challenge with family and friends and putting on a bake and book sale. When asked why they decided to take part they said: “We wanted to be a part of something that we could look back on and be proud of.”
The Mayor of Sevenoaks, Councillor Shea, also attended the event and said: “The Schools Triathlon was a great event. I loved seeing so many local and not-so-local schools taking part, and many children enjoying triathlon for the first time. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the cause very worthwhile. Thank you to Sevenoaks School for hosting the event and welcoming so many visitors.”

Sally Walmsley, Deputy Head Co-curricular at Sevenoaks School, said: “The triathlon was a truly heartwarming day for everyone involved. We are fortunate to be able to host so many young athletes and their families for this wonderful event, and are already looking forward to next year.”
