Royal Tunbridge Wells Launches Dog-Friendly Shopping Initiative
Royal Tunbridge Wells has launched an initiative to improve the ease of shopping for dog owners in the town centre.
With over 100 establishments across the town participating, businesses will now display window stickers to help owners find dog-friendly stores to shop or eat and drink.
The initiative, launched by Royal Tunbridge Wells Together Business Improvement District and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council aims to encourage dog owners to shop in town. Also supporting the campaign is Royal Victoria Place shopping centre which has welcomed dogs for many years, but will benefit from the increased visibility of its dog-friendly stores.
Councillor Justine Rutland, Cabinet Member for Economic Development said of the campaign: “It’s hard to miss the devoted community of dog owners in Tunbridge Wells, of which I am a dedicated member! It is great to have the option to take your four-legged friend with you when going out to shop, eat and explore. These new window stickers will make it so much easier for dog owners to be sure where their pets are genuinely welcome.”
With over 100 participating stores including High Street favourites Lush, Oliver Bonas, Fenwick and Clarks there is plenty of choice. Independent stores will also participate including Ruby’s of London, a fully plant-based cafe, Wolfit Pet Shop, Bod + Ted, Silver Sheep, Renaissance and The Cake Shed.
