Talking Gardens Of Sevenoaks To Raise Funds For Hospices Of Hope
The Talking Gardens Of Sevenoaks offers a unique opportunity to visit three magnificent gardens with Hospices Of Hope’s Founder Graham Perolls.
Hospices of Hope Founder, Graham Perolls, invites garden lovers to accompany him on a rare series of exclusive tours and talks at three unique gardens in West Kent. This rare opportunity will provide avid gardeners with insight from each garden keeper/owner as they guide the tour and recount each amazing journey of transforming these three beautiful gardens into the extraordinary spaces they are today. There will be an opportunity to discuss both the historical and horticultural aspects of plants, shrubs and trees in each garden with hands-on experts!
The first visit is to St Clere’s Estate, Kemsing – Thursday, 25th April 2024
Join Graham Perolls and St Clere’s Estate Foreman, Martin Platt, to learn about his 26 years working in the 17th century country estate gardens – including the kitchen and herb gardens. The St Clere’s gardens were made famous as a location for many TV shows and films, including Agatha Christie’s ‘Mirror Crack’d’ starring Elizabeth Taylor. Members of the exclusive party will relax after the tour with refreshments like true movie stars.
The second visit is to Reuthe’s – The Lost Garden of Sevenoaks – Thursday 16th May 2024
Join Graham and Reuthe’s owner, Claire Price, in exploring the magical 11-acre rare species woodland, which hosts one of the country’s best selection of specialist rhodendrons, azaleas and camellias. This is a great opportunity for garden lovers and botanists alike. Finish your adventure with refreshments.

The third and final visit for 2024 will be to the World Garden, Lullingstone – Tuesday, 18th June 2023
Join Graham and ‘modern day plant hunter’ Tom Hart Dyke, (the creator of the World Garden and the 20th generation of the Hart Dyke family to live at Lullingstone), for a private and exclusive talk and tour. Made famous when Tom Hart Dyke was kidnapped in the Panamanian jungle on a plant hunting expedition that went dangerously wrong, this tour and talk will take you all around the world and back again – in time for much needed refreshments.
Hospices of Hope will be bringing you further news of the tours over the coming weeks or you can read more about the gardens at www.hospicesofhope.co.uk/events/the-talking-gardens-of-kent/. They recommend that you book ASAP before they are sold out.
Tickets are £25 per person per garden visit, but you can also book all three tours at a discounted rate of £60 per person – fantastic value for three unique visits to the gardens.
This is a fabulous opportunity for garden lovers – and you will be helping to support Hospices of Hope’s vital hospice work in south and east Europe, too.
