As part of our TW Works campaign, RTW Together BID launched a dedicated Tunbridge Wells recruitment website, to complement the services of our local recruitment agencies. It has been designed to be relevant to all levels of roles and all types of business from retail to hospitality, education to professional services. It gives potential employees a free platform to search for local jobs, and our business community an affordable channel on which to advertise (BID members have free access to the platform).
Tunbridge Wells has a diverse business community including 19% in wholesale/retail, 15% in human health/social work, 9.7% in professional, science and technology, 8.7% in education, 7.7% in hospitality, 7% in finance and insurance and 4% in information and communications. This last sector has grown the fastest, seeing a 29% increase year on year between 2021 and 2022.

Tunbridge Wells Networking
Business ‘networking’ is a buzzword that gets bandied around a lot. Networking certainly offers numerous advantages for individuals and organisations, including increased visibility of a brand, access to new opportunities, and the development of potential collaborations, referral pathways and partnerships. It can also lead to knowledge exchange, career advancement, and improved confidence.
Perhaps, as importantly, it can provide people with a feeling of being part of a community, of belonging. Especially for the 5,000+ Startups, Sole Traders and Entrepreneurial businesses (0-4 employees) registered in Tunbridge Wells which represent 76% of our total business community.
There are a number of different networking styles, from structured referral groups like BNI, to more informal, community-focused groups. As part of the BID’s TW Works project, they have researched some of the most prominent networking groups across the town, and wider borough. The BID runs its own very successful quarterly networking events for BID members, and are soon to launch a specific networking group for their young up and coming members of staff.
